About the Journal

Strategic Review for Southern Africa is an internationally accredited and peer-reviewed periodical of the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Since the journal’s establishment in 1978 it has witnessed major social and political changes in Southern Africa, the wider continent of Africa and the world.

In recognition of these changes, and as a project in transition guided by a new editorial team, the Strategic Review for Southern Africa will be adjusted in terms of both content and format as from 2013 with volume 35, no. 1. At the same time, however, it will continue its founding mission to engage in strategic and political analysis of socio-political developments that impact Southern Africa.
